Goals: describe the main goals of the good practice

- identification, detection, reporting and action in cases of abuse

- public awareness and awareness of target groups

- coordinated approach in the detection of abuse and in

   providing assistance

- development of forms of assistance for victims and 

  perpetrators of violence

- development of an appropriate network of programs for

  victims and perpetrators

In Slovenia there are 12 regionally organized coordinators for prevention of abuse. Their tasks are: coordination of inter-institutional cooperation, multidisciplinary teams reference in individual cases of abuse, offering professional support to the services, organizing and maintaining a network of Social Security services, training for professionals, development tasks in the field of prevention of etc.

The results are better coordination of individual services, better informed target groups and public on abuse, development of aid and services in the region (taking in account the specifics of the local environment), development of an appropriate network of accommodation for victims and perpetrators of abuse.

What are the success factors?

Inter-institutional cooperation with all who are responsible for carrying out tasks under the Act, joint training, taking into account local peculiarities and characteristics, availability, fast response and assistance, high level education of regional coordinators and their continuing professional education, analyzing and monitoring the occurrence of abuse in the region.
